The temple of Vadtal was being constructed. Once Shriji Maharaj visited the site. All saints and devotees were working very hard. This work was the work of hard labour. This required grinding of lime and carrying bricklayers's through as well. So the people engaged in this laborious work were dirty and muddy. Maharaj was highly pleased on seeing people working hard, and he said, “Come on, let us embrace.” Saints and devotees replied, “Maharaj, our bodies are dirty and muddy.” Maharaj answered merrily, “Who says that your bodies are muddy? It is not muddy. It is the besmearing of Sandalwood!” Saying thus, Shriji Maharaj embraced all one by one. Such was Shriji Maharaj! He toiled himself, made others toil, and honoured the people who toiled.
